Since you already got it off – for future reference, I got the cap off by using a cutting disc and slicing a gap into the cap. I then took a screwdriver to split the cap into 2 pieces. Worked like a charm!

REALLY deep socket! They do have them, don’t remember where though.

I remember how aggravating the short ones were with my toolset. My 12mm was deep enough, but for some reason the 10mm was shorter than the rest of my set, so I had to plunder through someone else’s tool chest until I found a better 10mm deep socket.
Not that i’ve looked at these studs, but is a box wrench out of the question?
