i would suggest taking it off for the winter
the pipe is a 2 piece design right
if it is just take the lower pipe out and attach the filter to the upper pipe like a SRI style
may not look the best that way but it beats hydrolocking your motor up

Youre supposed to cut it (in half) in order to utilize a bypass valve. Since you dont have this valve, you can convert it to shortram during the winter and connect it back up for CAI during dry season.
am i implying that you should cut it. Just get a silicon coupler or equivalent.
when i first got the car I bought a 25 buck CAI off ebay. I was supprised with the quality and it looks great. Anything is better than stock(most cases)
So get an ebay CAI, if you dont like it your not out much money anyway.
i just got my cai from ebay yesterday. actually surprised on quality, except for filter. probably going to get a k&n. cant u just buy these at a local parts store, and how much?
What kind did ya get from ebay, just depends, If u got an AEM on it comes with a K&N Filter already.
