I really would love to have a 2dr da. only electric.

He said it only gets about 40 miles per charge.
Thats alot of batteries, but he said that this summer a battery is being released that would allow for either a hundred, Or Hundreds of miles per charge. But for one battery its $5,000

Id say, Replace all those batteries with the single 5K battery.
And I wouldnt mind owning one.

He said its about $1 per 30 miles…
So pretty much paying $1 for a gallon of gas, Only not gas, Electricity.

I actually have plans this summer to buy a dune buggy, and convert it.
As long as I get 30 miles per charge. That will take care of almost all traveling I have to do. Aside from work. (only every third day)

uh… no thanks. you’d have to do a lot of that $1-per-gallon driving to even knock the total loss down from 5 figures to 4, except it would be pretty hard to do that much driving in 40-mile increments.

neat concept, though. and a good portion of that money appears to be going toward vehicle restoration and other items that aren’t directly related to the electric drive conversion.

Yeah, that 12K is into alot of other stuff and not the Electric conversion.
I mean he is redoing the intr, from panels to seats to everything.

Dont wanna pay the $1? Their are solutions.

And as he states, There is a new battery that would replace ALL

Charging it once a week for a couple bucks. Sounds good to me.
(Thats a couple bucks if you dont have solor or wind power)
The battery is pretty expencive, 5,000.

This summer Im start a conversion on either a dune buggy, or a DA.
If I can get 50 miles out of the charge. THATS ALL I need.
80% drive less than 40 miles per day. So whats the problem…

ah lucky lucky. On weekdays I’ve driven 40 miles by 7 am every day…

I do think its pretty cool that he ended up attaching the thing to his b-series transmission.

From what I understand you can do this really cheap.
It seems this guy spent too much, and he wants to
do alot more aside from just the EV conversion.

I wonder what he will do about the brake booster, doesn’t it use the power of the intake vac.:hmm: And would the A/C and power steering work the same since the engine does not idle at a stop sign.:hmm: I hope he took all that into cosideration. Other than that, it would make an exellent track car! :burnout:

From what I understand, Brakes are controlled by An Air compressor system.
And not sure about the rest.

Also, It seems to be the norm. to be able to do 5th gear burnouts with these
electric motors… Pretty crazy
