E Brake loose and non-functional after pulling up hard

So I parked my car, and pulled up the e brake kinda hard, but no harder then I usually would and all of a sudden it is loose and doesn’t do anything anymore. Infact, it actually raises up on its own after I put it down. The clicker doesn’t function, and the arm doesnt function. It doesnt seem to be attached to the brakes anymore. I took out the ash tray and saw the lines were kinda loose but I’m not really sure where to start.

did you try to retention them or otherwise the cables snapped and or the locks that hold them tight.

check to make sure the cable is still atached to the rear brake calipers, if so try to add some tension to them at the adjustment point just behind the brake handle. if you still get nothing. you might have snaped one or both of the cables
