    Tranny swap, check engine light

Just had a auto- 5 speed tranny swap done for me, however the check engine light keeps coming on after about 5 minutes of driving. We replaced the ECU with one from a 5 speed car. What else could it be?

    Thanks.

See what CEL code you are throwing.

17, vehicle speed sensor. Ok that makes sense because...

The speedometer doesn't work. I had the cluster changed and I think the speedo cable got unhooked cause I can't tell how fast I am going so I was going to do that tomorrow.

That's what it probably is, or could the cluster itself be bad? Didn't do the VSS test like the Honda manual suggests.

      Thanks.

Speedo cable was in the cluster, it may be unhooked on the other end but with the error 17 ECU code I'll just bring the car back to the shop tomorrow and have them check the VSS.

        I'll keep you updated.

        Thanks.

Ended up being the speedo cable being busted on the VSS end and it kept popping out, so we ordered a new one.

          Thanks.
