My son has a 5spd ls and it is making one hideous noise when you drive it. I pulled it on to the street and drove it maybe 30feet and the noise it made scared me to death. The car is OEM no major mods done to it but I was told it is quite possible the axxle has jumbped out of socket. Can someone give me further insight if this is something that has happened to them and what may be the best resolution to this.
yea most likely the axles are clicking. the joints are probably beat up. if the joints got dislocated u kinda wouldn’t be able to drive it. if it got dislocated from the transaxle (transmission) then u really wouldn’t be able to drive it. it would just spin and not move. i suggest u change them out with some axles, oem are very good, napa or advanced auto parts axles are pretty good too. DO NOT BUY AUTOZONE AXLES or any from kragen.
btw, is the car lowered?
