Removing OEM Fuel Pump

Can I remove the fuel pump from the back seat or does the tank need to be dropped?

Drop the tank.

Drop the tank, if you know what you are doing you can have it dropped in 30 min. I did it in that time.

Then what is the fuel pump cover under the backseat for?

You’ll still need to pull the lower section of the back seat to disconnect the sending unit.
