so im gettiing my head ported and polished in about a week, its starting to act a little funny. i was just curious on what i have to replace or what i should replace just in case of wear and tear. im on a budget of around $400 for the new internals, so i no they wont be the best, i was still hoping to get some advice on some decent parts. by the way its a cable jdm b16 that im getting ported and polished. does anyone know around how much a port and polish costs? just curious on how much loot to bring… thanks guys.
Why would you get a Port n Polish to fix a funny problem?
Nothing really gets wear and tear in the head. If you’ve had overheating issues the head and block may need to be milled flat. But do too much and you’ll need cam gears. Many port jobs come in stages of labor and cost, starting with the valve seat area and runners, to where the intake manifold mates to the head, to the combustion chamber itself. The more porting and polishing you get, the more hp you can produce at a higher rpm at the expense of emissions.
