critics needed

i have an 2 ideas, i think i am about to do the first which is to:

  1. take off the stock air box upper top from the air tube and lower box, bag off the intake air tube, and the output to the top airbox, and run a thick bead of silicone caulking and them turn it over and put a new filter on and weight with a book or something overnight. put it back together, after removing the bottom of the stock airbox by 2 bolts. think it will hold, and see any problems from this? unfiltered air/engine crud/water spashes?

  2. or, take out the lower box to modify by drilling and cutting some large openings, ovals or nice smooth big openings on the side, and then putting back in. this allows use of stock clips to secure the filter, and about as much better breathing as glueing the filter to the top box as above.

just remove the resonator box(the box inside the bumper) it will breath better :cross:
