Why does my car keep jumping time. It was jumped 2 times now it only jumpes 4 or 5 teeth. I just put a time belt on it and eversece then it has been jumping I instaled it. I adjusted the tension just like the book said. but why is it jumping time… please help
did you replace the tensioner? an did you make sure that all the slacks on the tensioner side. if it jumped did it nic the belt ?
no the belt and the engine is fine. yes I did replace the tensioner. how tight does it have to be??
if you didn’t torque the tensioner bolt, that is your problem
i hope you held tension on the longer side before tightening the tensioner up

when you put the belt on… the long side without the pulleys and what not… you have to hold that tight while putting the belt around the pulleys and stuff…and then once you get it around you go with your wrench and turb the crank bolt backwards of rotation just enough to hold the belt on tight but not enough to spin it… loosen tensioner then tighten to spec
