just bought it… and wondering, what exactly does the baffle (inner silencer) do? do i really need it? does it affect performance any? or does it just affect the sound of the exhaust? any help would be great…

Why don’t you run your car with and without it. Then you’ll know why you’d need it. I once read somewhere it affects the performance tiny bit, but that loss is very negligible compared to noise reduction you get from using it.
