I was reading around on some hp numbers, but got a bit confused, so I was hoping someone on here could clarify for me.
I was looking around at a lot of places for honda engine specs. I’ve always thought that g2’s made 140 hp with the b18, a/b being the same hp not including gsr. Then i found that a lot of places showed the 90-91 ls’s having 130 hp @6k, same tq and cr as the 92-93 ls’s except for the 140 hp @ 6300 rpm.
Is the b18a the 130 hp? and b18b 140? Why the heck is there a difference?

yes, 90-91 have 130 hp and 92-93 have 140. some say it is attributed to more aggressive cam profile, better IM, and exhaust manifold and OBD. but others also claim that you barely feel a difference in power. of course, if youre loking for a g2, try to find a 93-93 as they have the more popular front bumper, and its newer. but i have a 90, and couldnt be happier.
heh, i did search, just wanted someone to tell me. Oh well, anyhow, my spirits just went down haha, there are only 4 tegs on carsoup in my area, and 2 are overpriced, and 2 are 90-91’s…grrr
