    Where does the ground to the block go...?

    I got battery cables and grounds and forgot where the ground from the (-) cable connects to the block. gotta get this car done tonight...thanx...

    It actually doesn't connect to the block, it connects to the tranny. The neg cable bolts to the clutch cable bracket which is bolted to the tranny case.

      this is an automatic and i already have this other cable grounded there that goes with the negative...that cable that is already there grounds to the body underneath the battery and then to the bracket which your talking about...the positive cable went to the starter with a wire attached to it going to the fuse box. so that leaves me with the negative cable which i just grounded out on a bolt on the block because i couldn't find where it wuz supposed to go in the dark. either way, my car runs now and i'll figure out where exactly its supposed to go later when i replace the front end...

        there are 3 total ground spots for the engine:

        1) From the battery, to the framerail, to the tranny

        2) From your engine wiring harness to the thermostat housing

        3) From the radiator support to the bottom right hand corner of the valve cover.

        maybe auto's are different though....
