So I’m getting a strange ticking + ksssssssssshshhhhhhhh from the area the alternator is at. I got under the car to get a closer look, and the pulley appears to be smooth and the belt is in good shape. The noise gets louder as the RPMs go up. I put my hand on the alternator and the vibrations felt are completely in sync with the noise. The vibration and noise is strongest on the side opposite the pulley.
Anyone experience this before? Is my alternator on its way to its demise?
