Safest way to reemove gauge needles?

I just started to work on my parts cluster to remove the faces of the gauges, I amannaged to remove the needle for the speedo fine withoug the actual spindle of the needle breaking off. But on the rest o the needles the spindle broke. Was wondering if anyone had some tips to share on the safest way to remove the gauge needles? The only think I did different on the speedo was spinning the needle on the spindle first, then it slid off with a little force from a screwdriver. I am making ustome faces for my own car and i dont want to break anything in it now since I dont have the spare parts, grrr one reason why I hate honda! lol.

i really don’t think there is a safe way :hmm:

some people say a pick kit can be used to remove all of them, otherwise best to leave them alone.

why do you need to remove the needles?
