what is this hard grey stuff on the spring? it’s under the electrical plug in the blower motor casing. it crumbled when i removed the blower motor. do i need to repair it with whatever was coating the spring? thanks. Until the actual coil breaks you don’t have to replace that. That resistor controls the fan speed
