Motor swapping PLEASE HELP!

Ok, long story which most of you have heard, i have no title for my 93 gsr, and dont think im going to get it, but i have the car, so this is what i was thinking. Get another g2, but an LS, drive that around while i rebuild my b17a motor and tranny. they put the motor and tranny into the ls once im done, paint it and what-not and im good. When i rebuild the motor i want to buff it up a bit and possibly put shorter gears in the tranny. Now, i really need some comments on this. How much do you think it might cost, how long it would take for the rebuild/swapping, and how hard this is really going to be/ how legal is it. If anyone can help i really appreciate it, im in a hole here.

there is so much information regarding everything you’ve just asked already available here.

please, do some searches and read up first.

btw…your thread title is too vague, so i’m guessing the thread will be locked. in that case…

ibtl, bitches. :stuck_out_tongue:

Searched, didnt find much useful info. “bitches”

how much money do you feel like spending on this project, rebuilding an engine and transmission wont be cheap.

really?

here’s just one of the many topics you covered that i ran a search for:

there were 4 pages of results on “engine rebuild cost” alone.

i suggest you think a little harder and search for broader terms.

Ok. point taken, although those threads have nothing to do with my situation. I dont want a b16/b18 head or ls v-tech. I want the b17 rebuilt totally. I do have another question though, does anyone know any good machine shops around brewster or carmel ny?

If you have a NAPA parts store nearby, they probably have a machine shop in-house. if they don’t, chances are they can recommend one. I’ve had excellent results with NAPA shops.

If you don’t have one nearby, talk to some of the local car dealerships–ask what machine shops they use if/when necessary.

ah, good idea, i heard of one called erics or something about 20 minutes from me but alot of people told me they suck. Honda would be the best dealership to ask, right? thanks.

hey man i am willing to help you in a way. are you parting out the gsr (except motor and trans of course) let me know i am interested in some parts
