Is this turbo worth $100?

My friend offered to sell me this Turbonetics turbo for a $100. He doesn’t know much about it since he got it in a trade for some parts he had. All he and I know is the exhaust housing is .63 I’m not sure what size the compressor housing is. It’s not marked. (Can anyone tell by the pictures what size it is?) The reason why I’m asking if it’s worth a $100 or not is I’m pretty sure it needs a rebuild. I can feel alot of shaft play in and out, and, up and down. It doesn’t look like the blades are rubbing on the intake housing though. Is it worth it even though it could need a rebuild? Around how much would it cost to be rebuilt? TIA

Anybody?

100 bucks eh…are you planin on rebuilding it?.. im not a pro with this stuff, but id hit it

If it definetly needs a rebuild then yes I would have it rebuilt by a shop. After researching I’ve come to find out an average rebuild is around $250. So $250 + $100 (price of the turbo) = $350 I’m just wondering if it’s still worth it then. Could I find something better for less money?

you could try www.cheapturbo.com they have some good shit…

:bump:

Or you could pick up a turbo from the junkyard… theres plenty of good turbos out there… just have to find them. There was a fat list of Turbo cars…hmm…
just email me… i got a fat list… civicracer_142@hotmail.com

its worth buying and rebuilding if it’s the size you want to run. 75 would be great. .63 exhaust is a good size, and the compressor you can estimate. what you want to know are the trims and a/r’s for both sides.

Thanks for the help Db1`Integra and XDEep. I think I’m gonna buy this turbo and have it rebuilt by www.cheapturbo.com. I’ve heard good things about them and their prices are great.
