Ok well I am in the midst of Maximum Boost, and I was just thinking about the actual fabrication of my turbo setup.
How much stuff in the engine bay do you have to move around to run the piping and manifold (just an estimate from the work you have done), and how much cutting and welding was required? What exactly did you have to cut, weld, move… Why? How did you do it?
If you can remember, maybe how many hours did you put into it?
I would search but not sure what to search for - if you could direct me to another post where this has been answered that would be cool with me too
well with my setup it took me 2 days(my weekend) installing my turbo and fabricating my downpipe and charge pipes…the hardest part is measuring,cutting and test fitting the pipes…also it’s a lot easier if you have all the parts ready,that way you don’t have to run around looking for parts you need…

Most of the parts are installed in the front of the engine bay right?
What is this I hear about needing a new radiator fan or a new radiator? Is this because you cannot fit some of the intercoolers in there without changing that?
It doesnt have to do with the intercooler. Its because the turbo usually is a snug fit between the block and the radiator. So removing the fans and buying a couple push style fans for the front of the radiator is best. Otherwise some slim fans might do the trick. You just have to figure out how much room you are going to have there.
There is no way I could fit fans on the backside of my radiator. So I got the “push style” ones for the front
