help with headlights

i have heard that in order to take the light guard out of the stock fog lights you can put the light into the oven on the lowest setting for like 5 minutes and then it will be easy to pry the lenses apart,(this is because i dont have a heat gun). does anyone kno if this is alright to do, or will it damage my lights

also i have heard that you can just stick a screwdriver into the hole that you insert the light into and bend the metal piece untill it snaps off of the light and then pull it out with some needle nose pliers, if anyone has taken the guard out of the lights i would appreciate your advice on how you did it, and which way was easier. thanks

I put my taillights in the oven at 200 and they were fine. When I had 3 peices I removed the glare guard with a screwdriver and needle nose pliers but it scratched the reflector housing a little.

I say try the oven :cross: if they melt get some more from the junk yard.
