Would 16 gauge wire work for a regular 12 volt application?
Depends on the current draw. What “application” are you trying to use it for?

I bought new speakers and they came with a blue indiglo that lights up the cone. I’m bored so i was like what the hell so i didn’t know for sure i think it’ll be ok but i was just making sure.
On some products (ahem…apc) you’d be lucky to even get 16 guage.
You’ll probably be ok, but I prefer using something a little bigger.
