Lansdowne Mall Parking Lot, Richmond: 23rd September, 2000

Canada's first G2IC meet was a long time coming and it found it's way to Greater Vancouver, British Columbia. It all started due to a domino-effect that prompted me to organize the meet that would bring some 13+ G2 owners together. It was stated that we should have a Canadian meet since Neil had made my suggestion of breaking the Canadian members into provinces, similar to the fashion done by the states of the US, a reality. That made it easier to contact those in western BC to get together for the meet.

It was a warm fall day. The sun was shining and we couldn't ask for better weather. On Saturday, September 23, 200 at around 3:30pm in the afternoon, one after another, 2nd generation Integras pulled into the vacant portion of Lansdowne Mall parking lot in Richmond. Many onlookers also came to see the display of beautiful G2s in an array of pride. After meeting and greeting everyone, we mostly conversed with one another our personal G2 stories. Jon 'Startroops' showed us his third G2, Max 'E-DA9' his only-2-days-old new paint job, and Amrit 'Essence', the lone GSR at this meet. We were even to leave by the rent-a-cop parking lot dude, but Dave 'TegRider' and others persuaded him to chill (thanks to the ladies who helped buy us more time!). Francis with the camera and Derek with the tunes, it turned out to be a great meet.

Those of us that didn't have prior engagements then went to the end of River Road, a quieter part of Richmond by the dikes for some more photos and a group shot. By this time it was 6:30 and most of us were hungry so we went to Boston Pizza for dinner, where a couple of members brought every magazine that could be dug up with an article of a G2 to be passed around for comparison. The food was great and the company greater and we all had fun just being there.

After dinner, 6 of us went to cruise down Robson Street, the premier strip of downtown Vancouver. The traffic was so busy on the strip that night, that we ended breaking apart and meeting up in opposite directions on Robson. We regrouped and cruised some more, hearing onlookers' comments of the entourage. Then it was down to Harookz, Jordan, and myself, with Mark stuck in traffic. We were worried about Mark, because he thought his G2 was overheating when he called us a mile back when he got caught in traffic, but we managed to meet up and all leave together, not before Vancouver P.D. decided to see what we were doing double parked all standing out side our cars. They were cool once we told them we were just waiting for a friend that got left behind.

And then it ended, seeming so fast, but only for now, as now there is interest for more meets to come. I want to say thanks to everyone who came! It was fun meeting all these new G2IC members. Future meets can only get better and we hope to have those that couldn't make it out for the next one. Can't wait to see the video too! For the people who were there who weren't members, some of whom just showed up at the last moment, I think they really got a taste of what this club is all about! I hope you are able to join and stay for a long time, myself included!!

Until the next Vancouver meet,

Ive T.
