Hey all G2 owners and members! The SF Bay Area meet in Hercules turned out to be successful! The meet was planned out at 12 noon, but I myself was at the park at 7:00 in the morning to reserve the picnic area for us. As I was setting up the tables and my dad was helping me to get everything together, I knew it was going to be a hot day here in the Eastbay. It reached about mid-80s by midday and really perfect for a BBQ! It was about 11:30 and just as I was just waiting for time to pass by, I see a bright pearl blue G2 enter the parking lot, revving, and I knew it was John (NSXBlue). After that from about noon to 1:00, G2s started gradually roll in one by one. We had people come from all corners of the Bay Area, from as far as San Jose, Sacramento, Santa Rosa, and San Ramon. Total count of G2s, 12 plus friends it was about 20+ of us at the picnic. We all had a great time getting to know each other better and eating hamburgers, hot dogs, and steak. It was fun having a bunch of G2 enthusiasts get together for a nice BBQ, to chat, and just to make new friends. Pimpin92 (Ryan) even went out and had a 10-ft G2IC banner made just for the meet. It was tight! (Check out the group pics.)

So as everybody was finished eating, they all left me, the grill man, to go out to the parking lot to check out everybody's ride. I was like "Hey, we're you all going!" Well, they all came back after their 30 minutes of jocking out in the lot and we started to clean up our area to head out. At about 4:00, we packed up our stuff and started to cruise out to the nearby business park for our photoshoot. We were all following each other, one behind the other, and just before we get to the business parking lot, Jeff tells me that someone just hit the curve at the last turn and bent their rim, badly! I was like, "s#%t! Who?" So we all turned around to go to check it out and it was Ryan's car. We all looked at the damage and it turned out that when the left front rim hit the outside curve, it bent the car's A-arm, rim, and fender! It was just a bad case of judgment on a blind curve. On top of that, a couple of security guards were giving us s#%t because they said we couldn't stay in the business park area. But Ryan explained to them that we were all there to help him out so they let us stick around. We were all stunned by what happened, but at the same time sympathetic as it was another G2 brother who needed our help. We first all tried to push the car off to the side of the road, but the rim was bent in so bad that we couldn't roll the car anywhere. So only choice now, is to tow the car and knowing that Ryan lived all the way up in Sacramento, it would've cost him bank to tow his car back home. But Nai (G2gyrl) went out of her way to call AAA for a tow truck (100 miles free towing) to help out. So here we are waiting for the tow truck to come and after about an hour later, his car is headed back home. As we see his car getting towed away, Ryan assures me that his G2 will be back in full force in a very short time. So don't worry fellas, he'll be back in action with a matter of weeks. I was really surprised that Ryan was even willing to still cruise with us even after what happened to his car and Brian (90 Tegra) was happy to take him home since he lived in Sac too! That's what you call G2 pride!

So it was about 5:30 and we all headed down to a large "park and ride" lot to take our group photos. As we were in front of the main intersection taking photos, a lot of passer-bys were gazing at all the G2s in the lot. After our shoot here, we all cruised down to Emeryville, so we can take more pics. It was about a 15 mile cruise and we were all going about 60 mph while all the other cars on the freeway were checking us out. A couple of G3s and SIs were even gazing in amazement at the clean body lines of our G2s. So we get to Emeryville and to get this particular shot in with the bay bridge and SF in the background, we all had to park, get out, and take pics within a 3 minute allotment because we were all parked in a red zone! G2ic breaking the law!!! Parking elsewhere was very scarce so the red zone was the only place we can get everybody together. After a clean getaway, we all decided to have dinner at a nearby food court and after we all enjoyed reminiscing today's activities, we all ended up calling it a day at around 7:00. The BBQ, meet, and cruise was a great success except for the mishap of one G2 brother, but everybody helped out and I just wanna thank all who made it to the meet. Thanks again to all the contributors of the G2ic BBQ and thanks Mercy for taking all the great pictures! See y'all at the next meet and peace!

G2s in full force!!!
